The Cruel Prince by Holly Black // A Book Review by Minahil Naghman

I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Holly Black coming back with yet another best-selling book about the treacherous world of the Fae. “The Cruel Prince”, written by the Faerie Queen, was published on January 2, 2018 and the second book in the trilogy “The Wicked King”, came out on January 8, 2019. The last book in the trilogy was originally set to come out in 2020 but after some begging from the fans, “The Queen of Nothing” is coming out on November 19, 2019.

Originally published by “Little Brown Books for Young Readers”, the book has 384 pages and 30 chapters. A short novella “The Lost Sisters” has also been published after Cruel Prince on eBook.

Treachery, betrayal and deceiving is just another day in the land of Faerie where live the Fae, who cannot lie, and the Duarte sisters, two mortal twins and their older faerie sister, have been brought after an elite warrior murders their parents. Jude realizes, after being mocked and tormented endlessly, that it’s a kill or be killed world and she needs to be just as difficult as the beautiful and terrible Fae.

But the road to power is blocked by what even Jude could not have thought of. Especially arrogant, cruel and annoyingly handsome Prince Cardan.

This book has been praised by all including, Cassandra Clare (a long-time friend of the author for whom she wrote the book), Victoria Aveyard and many other famous New York best-selling authors. I can speak for most who have read the book that it is simply a beautiful piece of art with such magnificent diversity in the characters and beautiful scene descriptions. It is a 100% read for anyone with a heart for fiction, fantasy and dark dangerous worlds.
