Nisha Rao, the 28-year-old Pakistan’s first trans-woman lawyer has proved that you can achieve your dreams if you have strong will power!
From begging to becoming a great lawyer, she has an inspiring story to tell. After realizing that she is not like other people, Nisha in her matriculation ran from her house in Lahore to Karachi to pursue her dreams. Her teacher motivated her to study and so, she joined Karachi university and complete her degree in International Relations (IR).
According to Nisha, she made really good friends while studying and she is blessed to be the first trans-woman lawyer in this country.
Even after coming to Karachi, her life was not easy. She used to beg to fill the expenses of her education. So, she begged in the morning from 8 to 12, and from 2 onwards she takes her classes.
Now she is a successful lawyer with 50+ cases on her list. She not only fights for the trans community but other people also. She has more focused dreams which include an old-age home for trans people. She wants to do something big for her community so that people would start accepting and appreciating them!
