Rules: General

1.The theme of poetry writing competition is ‘Bridges to Burn’.

2.The competition is open to anyone aged 10 or over at the time of entering.

3.The closing date of the competition is midnight 21st of July  2019.

4.Result will be announce in between 27 to 30th of July.

5.One individual can send max 2 entries.

6.Under no circumstances can alterations be made to poems once entered.

7.The competition organizers reserve the right to change the judging panel without notice

8.The judges read all the entries; their decision is final.

Rules: Poems

1.All entries are judged anonymously and the poet’s name must not appear on the poem itself.

2.All poems must have a title and must not exceed 40 lines in length (excluding title).

3.Poems must be the entrant’s original work.

4.Entries must not have been published, self-published, published on a website or made public on social media, broadcast or featured among the winners in another competition.

5.Handwritten entries cannot be accepted. Entries should be typed.

6.Entries can be double or single spaced, and must be written in English.

8.Poem must adhere to basic rules of capitalization.

9.Do not type poem in all capital letters.

Subject of email should be ‘Poetry competition 2019.

11.Your submission/entry must be in word file or pdf. Font size should be Arial between 12 to 14 font size.
All entries must include their Name, Email, Whatsapp number, and a picture (if possible) in another word file or pdf.

Rules: Winners

1.Winners will be notified by email and social media.

2.All entrants who provide a valid email address will be notified about the outcome of their entry.

3.The copyright of each poem remains with the author. However, authors of the winning poems, by entering the competition, grant The Meraki Magazine the right in perpetuity to publish and/or broadcast their poem. Use of the poems elsewhere for one year from June 2019 is subject to permission from The Meraki Magazine

4.Top three winners will receive a signed copy of a book and a certificate.

5.We may publish some of best piece in The Meraki Magazine for which author(s) will be notified.
