Dear YOU,

First of all, I cannot thank y’all enough for giving birth to me
every time melancholy knocks at your door. 
It might be painful but once
I’m born, I’ll cup your worn-out face as gently as I can, and caress it
like a lily. The pain will vanish like a deer in front of headlights. As

Every time, while writing to me, when I feel tears fall lightly on my words, I cry inwardly for the inability to soaking them up. The water blots you see are not yours, but mine. They always leave behind a mark that reminds you of my enemy whenever you read me. I’m sorry. I’ll work on it, I promise to make you remember only me.

Y’all introduced me to metaphors and similes, it felt like high tide
waves greeting the shore, bystanders loving the drops of water landing
like dewdrops on their faces. It was as if we were meant for each other,
cementing our weakness and building a strong foundation of friendship.
We’ve become the best of friends and you will always find us together.

For me, rhymes are like the silver lining on a cloudy day. I swallow
down lumps of figures of speech to lure rhymes into me. And guess what?
The rhymes come after me like bees to honey and I couldn’t be happier.
They add the final luster and make y’all fall in love with me all the

Lastly, in case I’m not around, don’t let yourself (and me) down.
Remember you’ve crossed hurdles, gulped down insecurity with a tinge of
pleasure and even given birth to me for that matter! I’ll always be
