It has not been long since the first look and teaser of the Pakistani movie ’50 Crore’ has been released. Soon after the lead-off the movie has become the talk of the town and is already trending.
Reason being, it’s evident similarity to the famous Netlfix original and Spanish show: La Casa De Papel. Also commonly known as ‘Money Heist’.
The story of Money Heist revolves around a group of robbers who plan an outstanding heist at the bank of Spain. The show soon grabbed everyone’s attention all over the world and became people’s favourite. But when our own industry introduced something really similar to the show, it was not received well. “
The Pakistani movie 50 crore is openly being termed as a “Money Heist Rip-off.” People just can’t stop calling it a copy since the teaser is out. The teaser also shows mug shots of the robbers with their names replaced by the names of different cities, which is exactly what happens in Money Heist.
The cast of the show includes Faisal Qureshi, Aijaz Aslam, Zhalay Sarhadi, Saboor Aly, Noman Habib. Anoshay Abbasi, Asad Siddiqui, Faryal Mehmood, Naveed Raza, Mehmood Aslam and Umer Shehzad.
Here is how people received the first look of 50 Crore
Response from the team
While people are busy judging 50 Crore even before the trailer is out, some of them really think there is more to this movie. The director himself says
“We understand the similarity with the internationally renowned series Money Heist but for us, it is much bigger than that.”
He further adds that
“We are extremely thrilled to bring a similar concept to the Pakistani Industry.”
The viewers think that the industry could never flourish if they keep copying international content. The lack of original content and this kind of plagiarism will not only embarrass the industry but the whole country. Amidst all of this, some are also of the view that the audience should at least wait and watch the actual movie.
Upon watching the teaser, many also think it looks great!
Some also think that the extreme resemblance of the movie with Money Heist may just be marketing ploy.
How is Daraz related to the Pakistani Movie?
With the hype growing bigger by each passing day, Daraz also claimed that they were connected to the movie in a way. The campaign posters were seen on their website. Some people also think that this may not even be a movie but just a publicity stunt for the annual Daraz 11.11 sale.
Nevertheless, the Pakistani movie may be heavily inspired by the Spanish series or it may be a PR stunt completely. But we can’t say anything for sure as no release date is confirmed. But the audiences are both anxious and curious for sure!
