If you’ve been stuck in quarantine for the past I don’t know how many days (sorry, it’s been so long I’ve lost count), then you’re probably bored. And this isn’t the normal one-day boredom, nope. So here are some of the Ways To Kill Boredom at home in Quarantine.
This is the ‘I’m about to go and jump off a roof just for some entertainment’ kinda boredom. You’re not only one, but The Meraki fam is also pretty darn bored as well.
We’re all in this together! (just not literally) and with a distance of 2 inches, please.
Here are 5 things you can do to kill quarantine-boredom.
Take an Online Course
If you’ve been wanting to learn something new, now’s the time to do it! There are thousands of courses available online. Whether it’s Youtube or websites like Udemy or Coursera, the internet is a treasure box for anyone willing to learn new skills.
Grab your laptop, grab your fancy notebooks and start taking courses so you can momentarily remind yourself of how it felt to be productive back when you had classes!
*collective noises of complains and groans as I type this*
Look, I know we all hate cleaning with a deep rooted passion.
But look around you, do you see those tiny spaces that are cluttered with things that you can barely see the floor? Or your bedside table which looks like your personal Jummah bazaar? Yeah, those things need to go.
So, maybe being quarantined at home does give us all a chance to do some important and overdue cleaning and tidying. What a bunch of creative Ways To Kill Boredom right?
You can either do it yourself, or be called a besharam by your mom, the choice is all yours.
Write about Corona
And no, I don’t mean a research article.
Consider this, we’re going through what is probably a moment that will go down in history. How cool would it be if all of us wrote a daily entry about the current situation we’re going through and kept it for years to come.
I mean, 10-20 years from now, you’ll be sitting with your kids/grandkids and tell them the story all heroically like, ‘I survived a pandemic.’
And they’ll go like, ‘How????’
And you’re going to look at them, smile and say, ‘By staying home.’
So two things,
Stay home. and Start writing about your COVID-19 lockdown journey!
Bond with your Family
If there’s one thing this pandemic is teaching us, it’s that life is unpredictable. Anything can be taken away from us at any time. Which is why it is important to spend time with the ones you love.
Since we’re all at home, with no offices or schools or colleges to go to, now is the best time to have some family quality time.
Reminisce old memories, play Ludo, watch a good movie together or just talk. Sometimes, while we’re looking for distractions, life can pass by so quickly. So this quarantine, let’s pause for a while and bond with our loved ones.
Declutter Your Phone Gallery
You know this has been long overdue. I know some of us like to keep pictures because ‘these are precious memories!’ or ‘I might need it someday!’ but really?
Since there are no urgent matters to attend to these days, you can sit back, open your camera roll and start clearing out all those memes and over-exposed pictures.
Who knows? Maybe you’ll stumble across some memories from good times!
I’m hoping these 5 things to do in quarantine will help you get through these days of agonizing boredom and absolutely murder it.
P.S: Sleeping is a pretty good way to pass some time.
You didn’t hear that from me.
