Here peace dies a slow death
Like poison in your veins
Spreading slowly and gradually to your entire body

While you stare at the absurdity
While you stare at the cruelty
Your being perishes

Your conscience is right there, in front of you drop dead
While you are laughing at your state
While you are trying to hide your desperation by that wide open smile you’ve masked

You can fool everyone but not yourself
A voice inside you says
You feel like a fish out of water

You experience your heart’s slaughter
Right in front of your bare eyes
Yet your soul defies

No, I haven’t expired
The heart beating in my chest has not retired
The flesh on my skin is still wired to the fibers of my being
You watch your emotions exit
You watch your conscience expire
Right in front of your bare eyes
Yet you choose to live
Yet you choose to regain your conscience one day
Yet you choose to regain your vulnerability one day
How brave you must be!
How naive you must be!
How valorous you must be!
